E. Does your customer try to interact with your business after a transaction?

  Step 1

With each question, compare your response in the 'Your Business column with your response in the 'Your Customer' column.

Your Answer

'Your Business' column higher than the 'Your Customer' column?

Your business and your customer are not in balance in that area. Your business is doing more than your customer wants or is doing things that your customer does not find appropriate.

'Your Business' column equal to the 'Your Customer' column?

Your business and your customer are probably in balance in that area. What your business provides or does is about right for your customer.

'Your Business' column lower than the 'Your Customer' column?

Your business and your customer are not in balance in that area. Your business is providing less than your customer expects and needs or is providing an experience that is inappropriate.

Step 2

Add up all the numbers you ticked in each column.

Your Answer

Total of the 'Your Business' column is lower than the total of the 'Your Customer' column?

Your business is less effective with your customer  than you could be.

Totals of both columns are equal
(or close to it)?

Your business is effective with its customer.

Total of the 'Your Business' column is higher than the 'Your Customer' column?

Your business is possibly doing too much for its customer or is providing an inappropriate experience for them.
Providing more than a customer expects is often a good thing. But, too much of that and you are wasting resources for too few outcomes.

Remember

Treat this way of understanding you and your business with great care. Your assessments of your business and of yourself could be inaccurate. Please be aware that any judgment you make is entirely your responsibility. Always act respectfully and responsibly with everyone, including people who are your customers and with your business.
